Got a late start, so I wasn't on the water until about 9am. It was dead calm and bait was literally everywhere. I headed down for the bars and guts to see if I could find a school of reds. No luck there, but I did chase a big Jack down one of the guts, but he wouldn't take the paddletail. From there I went into what I call redfish cove to cast down the shoreline for reds. At the first drain I caught an 18in flounder on a slayer inc. golddigger. Made it around the cove with no reds to show for, so I decided to troll a paddletail across the open water in search of some specks. Found the specks around some Simi submerged pilings out in the middle. I fished that area for about an hour and caught nonstop specks, but never landed anything over 16in. At one point I foul hooked a cow nose ray and spent a few minutes wearing him out. Fight off the day goes to the monster ladyfish I caught. It was screaming drag and jumping silver. For a trash fish they sure put on a good show. Left around 1pm when the storms rolled in. If you have any questions feel free to ask.

Caught my first slot red in Keller Bay about 5 years ago. Only been back a couple of times. I mostly fish near San Luis Pass/Cold Pass. Not familiar with the named areas you mentioned. May have to check them out.
